The topic of this discussion is to demonstrate the importance of the development of the tourism industry in Taiwan through the reflection of four aspects: tourism market in Taiwan, China, and around the world, as well as the shortage in human resources in the tourist industry in Taiwan.

There are a number of factors that create the emergences of the tourist market in Taiwan. The well developed economy in Taiwan, people’s apolaustic life styles, and the raising awareness of the development of the industry by the government. These factors, alone with the facts that many manufacturing sectors have moved to lowered wages countries which resulted in the economic slump.

Tourism, therefore, in my opinion, is the only industry that many roots deeply locally, here in Taiwan. And it is an extremely important issue that Taiwan has to face in order to create, broaden and strengthen the industry of tourism. Its potential of the tourist industry is endless.
